Blues in the Schools at Mohonason High School

BITS

On April 29th CRBN held a Blues in the Schools program with guest musician-educators Garland Nelson and Gail Sparlin. The program was held for the entire Junior class at Mohonason High in Schenectady- over 200 students.

The students learned about the evolution of the music of enslaved people to blues and how blues became an original American art form. They learned about call and response and sang along to classic blues songs. The kids had a great time and even filmed the event.

CRBN would like to thank our members and sponsors for providing support for this program, with a special thank you
to the Stewart’s Foundation for their continued support!
